FLO-P Air Cleaning Units

For a number of years, JIMCO A/S has developed and manufactured air-cleaning systems specifically for the reduction of grease and aromatic compounds in exhaust air with high temperatures (frying, boiling and deep frying processes). JIMCO systems are based on UV-C & Ozone technology that results in the cold incineration of organic matter from a process called photolytic oxidation. The process leaves no harmful residues.
FLO-K Air Cleaning Units
For the reduction of odor from industrial exhausts
Over the last two decades, JIMCO A/S has developed and manufactured air-cleaning systems specifically for the industry. JIMCO’s systems are based on UV-C & Ozone Technology. This method is based on photolytic oxidation whereby a cold incineration of organic matter occurs. The process leaves no harmful residues. FLO-K systems are manufactured and supplied for various tasks.
JIMCO Air-Cleaning System type FLO-K is used for a large number of different applications
– where the air temperature is less than 45OC. The FLO-K system does not require a secondary air to cool the primary air to be treated. The process is called photolytic oxidation, which means the contaminated air is subjected to a combination of UV-C light and ozone.
The contaminants in the air are oxidized or cold incinerated. Odors and organic particles contained in the air are reduced to an absolute minimum. The typical reduction in OU/m3 is about 90 – 98%.
The reaction chamber of JIMCO’s FLO-K system is made of acid proof stainless steel (316) and contains a number of JIMCO’s Photozonelamps™. These are dimensioned for the volume of air you wish to clean.
JIMCO’s FLO-K systems can be used in conjunction with automatic CIP cleaning systems. The CIP system is controlled from the PLC-controller to program the cleaning sequence to your requirements. JIMCO and CIP suppliers have jointly selected the best environmentally friendly detergents for the cleaning process.
JIMCO’s industrial systems are normally equipped with PLC-controllers incorporating modem links and alarm signals.
A newly developed product has made it possible to clean the air exhausting from smoking ovens very successfully. Experience and analyses have shown that a cleaning effect of approx. 95% can be achieved.
JIMCO’s FLO-K system can be combined with a water scrubber for applications with large ammonia content. Ammonia is easily washed out of the contaminated air. The air is washed before entering the UV-C reaction chamber.

The HS Purifier uses photolytic oxidation to purify hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in the air. When the amount of H2S is reduced significant in a pump well you will avoid neighbors complaining about odor and you will protect your electrical installations against the corrosive gas.
The HS Purifier is connected to a 230 V power supply and is mounted vertical in an Ø110 PVC tube with the ventilator on top. The Ø110 tube ends in the pump well and the ozone will travel through the tube into the pump pit.
Oxygen in the atmospheric air is converted into ozone by using JIMCO’s special HS lamp. The ozone is blown to into the pump pit by a ventilator mounted on the HS Purifier. The ozone will react with hydrogen sulfide and the following chemical reaction occurs in pump well:
O₃ + H₂S -> SO₂ + H₂O -> SO₂²⁻ og SO₃²⁻
This means that the hydrogen sulfide is oxidized into a sulfur compound and is therefore no longer dangerous or malodorous.

Due to increasingly higher hygiene demands in the food processing industry etc., the use of UV-C light to eliminate microorganisms e.g. bacteria, fungi, and viruses, is becoming more and more commonly used.
Using UV-C light to eliminate microorganisms in the air is a technique that has been known for decades. UV-C light reduces the total amount of microorganisms in the room by breaking the DNA bonds in the organisms.
Using UV-C Technology, JIMCO is specialized in the elimination of microorganisms and odors.
A minor contamination with microbiology may result in a faulty commodity – in consequence, it can be an expensive affair for the company. To avoid this, a steadily increasing number of companies decide to sterilize/disinfect the process air with UV-C light.
Depending on the calculated UV-C dosage, a kill rate of 99.9% of all microorganisms may be achieved.
Together with the PLC-control, special UV-C sensors developed by JIMCO A/S, ensure that the UV-C light is 100% effective.

With the introduction of the UV-C-based disinfection of surfaces, we now add yet another field of application to our patented UV-C technology, which has been awarded the EU Environmental prize and which since 1993 has been used in self-produced air cleaners – systems which are used for removing obnoxious smells, improving the indoor climate as well as reducing the danger of fire and infection hazards.
Now it is possible to disinfect surfaces, which would normally require a manual treatment, involving a large number of advantages for the operating economy, the environment as well as the work environment.

The disinfection module can with advantage be used with Jimco´s UV-C air sterilization solutions that are typically installed in connection with existing ventilation systems. In this way, the customer will have a total solution, which cleans the air in the production rooms during working hours – and disinfects all surfaces after closing time, when the daily cleaning of machines and surfaces is complete and there are no longer any people in the room.
The start-up can take place automatically via a foregoing programming, e.g. when a given process is ended, or manually by pressing a button when the last person leaves the room. Besides production rooms, the solution can with great advantage be applied in i.a. cooling and storage rooms, laboratories as well as in the health sector for the disinfection of bed units, etc.
In most environments, the system will provide savings on manpower, water, and heat in amounts that are so high that the repayment period will only last approximately one year.
Very positive results – of tests as well as practical use
Prior to the introduction of our solutions for UV-C & Ozone-based disinfection, we have for some time conducted full-scale tests in various companies in co-operation with DTU (Technical University of Denmark) and The National Institute for Aquatic Resources. The results were very positive.
Furthermore, various tests carried out in co-operation with The South Danish university have shown that concentrations of for instance listeria and salmonella bacteria can be almost completely removed by means of our technology and within only one hour a day.
Hygiene that is on a level with or better than traditional disinfection
At the fish factory Vega Salmon A/S, in Esbjerg DK, JIMCO’s system for UV-C & Ozone-based disinfection has been installed in the production. Tests from the factory show that the total bacterial concentration after a UV-C & Ozone-based disinfection is better/lower than after a traditional disinfection. At the same time, the concentration of fungal spores is reduced.
This goes to prove that saving tons of water and chemicals has no hygienic consequences.
